Born and raised in New Haven CT, Gerald Conyers, artistically known as GeeBandz, is passionate about using his love for music to inspire the next generation to pursue their dreams. By the young age of 18, Gerald has already performed in front of thousands of people across the East Cost and is currently the youngest artist to ever be featured on CT's #1 hip-hop station HOT 93.7. Gerald has also been mentored by artists such Maino Hustle hard, Snoop (formally from the wire), Chris Weeby, and Mack Wilds. Just recently he has shared the stage with upcoming international recording artist popularly known as Vic Mensa.
Being unsatisfied with the direction of mainstream hip-hop and its negative affect on the identity of young people, Gerald is innovating a new brand of hip-hop that motivates struggled teenagers toward greatness. He tows the skillful line of remaining both relevant and catchy to young people, while staying true to his inspirational mission. A game-changing leader and mentor for youth, Gerald has toured through dozens of high schools across NYC, New Haven, and DC, for his Next Up Tour both as a powerful performer and passionate mentor with The Future Project, a national nonprofit organization that inspires young people to build lives of passion and purpose.
In Gerald's own words, "I feel as if I was born to do what I do. Music is my life and being on stage is my way of showing it." Gerald is currently planning his second annual Next Up Tour, visiting dozens of high schools across the nation starting on February 20th. After the success of his 2nd tour (Encore “Next Up Tour”). GeeBandz soon after shared the stage with Cinematic Music Group’s successful recording artist popularly know as “Mick Jenkins”. He then later on got the chance to share the stage with former YMCMB member Curren$y who’s now founded Jet Life Recordings. In which he performed at one His home towns most popular music venues “The Ledgendary Toads Place.” Since then GeeBandz has been working tirelessly to find a newer, hotter, ear attracting sound to catch all of his listeners . What he brought to the table after hundreds of hours spent in the recording studio was, the “Dwunk Tape” . The first ever mixtape Tape was released via SoundCloud so that his listeners can listen for free. Also, an official music video to one of his singles “12 AM” was just released on YouTube and is breaking social media reactions across the world. The single was just recently aired on 104.5 KissFM radio station located in Ice Land . He now plans on furthering his music career by conducting a blog and radio station mini tour, doing interviews and dropping insights on his music from “Dwunk Tape.” Gerald is currently in the studio working hard on his next project scheduled to be released early 2018, “Dwunk Tape 2.”
