Young Izz is a rapper/singer/songwriter from Long Island, NY.
Born on Long Island, New York in the county of Nassau on October 1, 1991, he discovered his passion for music and started rapping at 6 years old.
Nas, LL Cool J, Tupac, Biggie and Slick Rick are listed as some of his biggest influences. Eminem, DMX, Jay-Z, and Outkast are also among many artists who have influenced Izz and his writing processes.
He is the CEO of $tr8Bizz - an independent music label founded in 2009 and legally established in 2016 as © Str8Bizz LLC.
Young Izz has written over 200+ songs and has released 4 full-length projects to date.
In 2012, he released his first official mixtape “Chosen One”. The following year in 2013 he released “Welcome to My Pain”. The year after in 2014 he released “X-Files: Confidential”. In 2016, he released his “Dear Winter – EP” and on April 13th, 2017 he put out another EP titled “Views From The 798”.
An experienced musician Izz has performed at various venues such as the Amityville Music Hall & Tavern, Revolution Bar & Music Hall, Coast 2 Coast, The Studio @ Webster Hall, and more.
Earlier this year Young Izz won Coast 2 Coast: New York Edition and was elected to compete as a finalist for $25,000 in Miami. Although he didn’t win the competition, in the end, he’s still charging ahead. “Not winning showed me a lot about myself that I do have what it takes for this,” he says only a month after the loss. “If I don’t give up I can do it.”
His upcoming EP, entitled “Both Sides of The Scale”, is dropping on October 22nd.
