Born in Orange County, California, Jonathan “DJ Ryu” [Rye-Yoo] always had a passion for music and deejaying, but it wasn’t until 2011 he would find something that would change his life. Already graduated with a degree in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida and working for a Fortune 500 company, he wanted a new challenge. One evening after watching one of the local DJ’s in Tampa “WOW-the-crowd” it finally dawned on him that it was something that he wanted to do.

After reading an online ad for a DJ battle in Tampa, he entered the contest knowing it would be his first time deejaying in a club. With his ability to rock a crowd and unique blends of music, it’s no surprise that he beat out over 40 other talented DJ’s to be crowned the Tampa Bay Spin Off 2011 Champion.

Since then, he has been rockin clubs throughout the Tampa Bay and Central Florida area playing everything from Top 40/Dance, Hip-Hop, Electro House, and Dubstep.
